Legal defence of the Head of Local Council accused of corruption and business crimes
Our client occupied the position of the Head of one of Local Councils. Law enforcement agencies instigated the crime and accused the client of bribery. Investigators decided not to be limited to one case and notified the Head about the suspicion under as many as 5 articles of the Criminal Code.
The Court of Appeals partially sided with the defence, admitted that the client's guilt had not been proven, and remanded the case for retrial. The case is now being re-examined by the court of first instance.
However, apart from hearing the case essentially, it was important for the client to retain his ability to work in the Local Council. Immediately after the client's detention, the lawyers achieved his release on remand, and later his exclusion from the seat was filed to the Court of Appeals. To date, the client can fully exercise his powers.
